We all know that some people say that your Car Air Bag & Truck Air Bag is pretty dangerous, but you have no idea why; right? Here are some rules that you should abide by:
1. Adjust your seat as far away as possible while still reaching the pedals comfortably.
2. Recline the back of your seat slightly.
3. Let the Air Bag point toward your chest instead of your head & your neck. This works by pointing your steering wheel downward; but not so low where you can’t steer !
The rules differ for children :
1. If you have a child under 12, they should be in the appropriate car seat in the back seat of the vehicle all buckled up & everything.
2. If you have an infant in a car seat, never put them in the front seat. Just don’t do it.
3. If you have to put a child in the front seat, make sure the seat is as far back as possible & that they are buckled & fastened securely.
Follow these rules !

I am not even kidding. There’s not a lot that you can do to minimize the chances of having your Air Bag stolen, but there are things that will help.
-If you get a new Air Bag , make sure you get it installed in a dealership. They should have the right Air Bag for your vehicle & will have the mechanics trained to actually install them.
-If you have that gut feeling telling you that you should go somewhere else; do it. If you’re buying a used car, be absolutely positive that the Air Bag is included on the mechanic’s list when he eventually checks the car out for you.
-Look for a fake cover on the Air Bag . “Why?” you may ask? The grain or the color of it may not be the same color of the rest of your console.
-Watch your indicator lights !
-Never inspect the Air Bag yourself ! If you accidentally make the Air Bag blow up, you can cause a serious injury .. & we don’t want this to happen ):
Hope this helps,

Do you know what Crankshafts are? It’s okay, neither do I ): But I did some research so hopefully this helps.
You can find Crankshafts in basically any New or Used Car Engine .. if you ever decide to really look for it. The whole purpose of this “thing” is to make your car go forward by converting the force that’s created by the engine’s pistons that are moving up & down. Because of this, Crankshafts are linked to all of the pistons in the engine & even something called a flywheel; but I’ll explain what that is later (:
You can have problems with Crankshafts when it’s too long because it needs to have more than enough support to handle the pressure from the cylinders in the engine. Since manufacturers don’t want this occurring to anyone who buys their vehicles, they make their engines in a V-Shape with short Crankshafts .
I hope you learned something (:

We all know what Brakes do in a car, even kids know what they do; but here’s the technical definition if you want it : A brake is a device that inhibits motion. Happy? (: Good, let’s move on.
Most Brakes on vehicles - on all vehicles - use friction to convert kinetic energy into heat. There are some that transform kinetic energy into potential energy in some stored forms like pressurized air or pressurized oil. If you ever see how Brakes work, you would see that they are pretty much applied to either wheels or axles that are rotating, but are not limited to just that. They can take other forms like the surface of a moving fluid (which are the flaps that are deployed into either water or air). There are some vehicles out there today that use a mixture of braking appliances; like if you look at drag racing cars, they have both the wheel Brakes & a parachute because they go that fast ..
Most all vehicles that have wheels have some sort of Brakes installed on them; even the shopping carts that you see at the grocery store ! I’m not even kidding. So now you know 2 things : mostly all “things” with wheels have Brakes and whenever you’re speeding through the aisles at the supermarket, you should be just fine (:
Gone shopping,

The Fuel Pump is a pretty important part of your car, whether you realized it or not. The basic job of the Fuel Pump is to draw the gas toward the engine. If you didn’t know (like me), there are two types of fuel pumps : a Mechanical Fuel Pump & an Electric Fuel Pump . The Mechanical Fuel Pump is in carbureted cars & the Electric Fuel Pump is installed in cars with Electronic Fuel Injection.
Your Fuel Pump is very unlikely to fail, especially in cars with an Electric Fuel Pump . If it ever does fail, your car will just sputter, die, & not restart .. & that’s it. When this happens, the car will act like it has no more gas, even though you may have just left the gas station with a full tank of gas.
It’s a pretty good idea to check it every so often to be sure that the gas is still flowing to the engine .. if anything, you can go to your local auto shop & they’ll be more than glad to check it for you; so don’t be shy !
Off to the Auto Shop,

So if you didn’t know, a Catalyst is a material that causes or speeds up a chemical reaction without the actual Catalyst being affected.
So if you have a Catalytic Converter , then you most likely know that there are two types: Reduction & Oxidation catalyst. They both have a Ceramic Structure that has a coat of Metal Catalyst. The whole point of this is to generate a structure that reveals the maximum surface area of Catalyst to the Exhaust Stream. It evens lessens the amount of Catalyst required at the same time. If you just so happen to take notice, the newest converters have began to use Gold mixed with a more traditional element of Catalysts.
Most cars that you see on the street today are actually issued with something called Three-Way Catalytic Converter ; this essentially means that it has 3 regulated emissions it helps to reduce. So I guess you can say that they are reducing their pollution as much as they can?
That’s good, right?

So we all know that Eagle models & Eagle Wheels are pretty hard to find considering they’re cars that are pretty old; right? There are 2 things that you can do to find the missing parts for that little Eagle of yours :
1. Use our “ Request a Part ” option on our Junk-Yard-Bids.com home page so that way, we can help you find that Muffler, Wheel, or even Hubcap that you need to make your car look like new again.
2. Visit or call any Eagle Auto Salvage Yards / Eagle Car Wrecking Yards that are closest to you. As of now, there’s one in Fresno, California; but if you live in like Pennsylvania or something, it may not be that good for you .. unless you really need the part.
Regardless of if you have an Eagle Medallion or an Eagle Talon, you should go to your local Junk Yard forany general thing you need (:
Off to search through the scraps,

It’s pretty intense .. are you ready?
1. If you’re going about 30 MPH & you’re unfastened from your Leather Seats , you can be thrown forward with a force that’s about 30-60 times your body weight.
2. Your Car Seat Belt is pretty much manufactured to hold you into your car just in case something like ^ happens. It’s also supposed to extend the destructive force of the collision over the more durable parts of your little body. This increases your chances of avoiding a horrible death or serious injury by almost 50%. So you have a 50/50 chance of surviving if you wear your Seat Belt .. period.
3. Technically, all kids that are under the age of 12 should have a car seat .. even though they don’t like it.
4. Car Seats that are rear-facing usually give better protection for the baby’s head, neck, & spine.
5. Any parts or Seats that you are in need of, you should be able to find them at your Local Junk Yards for a good price; if not, use our Parts Request to find it !
Off to find random scraps,
Mykalanne.

If you’re pretty much like me where I just like my Used Transmission to be Automatic so I don’t have to do all of that extra work; then you’ll probably love this blog.
If you didn’t know this already, the Automatic New & Used Transmissions are supposed to let the engine work with its narrow range of speeds while supplying a wide range of output speeds at the same time. If a car didn’t have a transmission, then the vehicle would basically be restricted to something called a One Gear Ratio.
A manual & automatic transmission work in totally completely ways. In a manual transmission, you have to constantly switch gears because if not, you will rev the engine. With an Automatic Used Transmission , the same sets of gears makes all of the different gear ratios.
There is no doubt that if you LOVE cars, you probably have a Manual Transmission; but if you’re like me where I just like my car to look cute & get me places, then an Automatic Used Transmission is for you.
Going for a drive,
Mykalanne.
